This is an old house in a quiet spot in the Old Village, only a short walk from the bus stop and car parking.
It is currently being lived in all year round and has telephone and television points.
The lower level door is for the “apotheki”; the traditional island storage/utility room.

The front door opens into the large open plan living room (6 x 4.75m) with kitchen and dining area. To the left of the door is the kitchen, with stairs to the bedroom. The sink unit, with tiled splashback and base cupboards, is to one side of the Sporades fireplace, which is one of the very old original fireplaces incorporating a bread oven. The fridge, cooker and another cupboard unit are on the other side, together with wooden wall storage cupboard and shelving unit.
The current tenants also have a washing machine in the kitchen, and there is ample space for the table and chairs. The plaka flooring and old chestnut beamed ceiling, together with a window to the front complete this part of the ground floor.
To the right of the front door is the sitting area with a wooden floor, chestnut beamed ceiling, windows to the front and side and a wooden display shelf.
The furniture in this room, and most of the furniture in the other rooms, belongs to the current tenants but could easily be replaced from the furniture shop, here, on the island.
Upstairs is the bedroom, also 6 x 4.75m. It has the typical Sporades style vaulted open beamed ceiling, windows to the front and a door to the balcony. This room has a wall mounted electric heater.
Where I stood to take this picture is a door to a storage area and a shower room, (2.75 x 2m) with no toilet but space for a washing machine.
Top left is the shower room without a toilet.
The other shower room is accessed from the balcony and is shown in the photographs top centre and top right. This has a toilet, basin and shower.
Access to the shower room is shown below, with the bedroom door being adjacent to the shower room door, but not “in shot”.
The balcony measures 4 x 2.25m plus 1.24 x 2.25m and has a wooden, tiled roof. There are views of the sea over the jumble of roofs and also views of the hills to the left. I have not yet worked out why the sea and the horizon are slanting (top right) but my webmaster will tell me it’s because I don’t hold the camera straight! This is an authentic piece of “Old Alonissos”. With a few minor improvements and furnished to your own taste, this could be your dream home.
If purchased together with the “ruin” (see below) it would have the significant advantage of additional outside space with panoramic sea views, or, alternatively, extra space for friends and family to stay - again with the same sea views.
