My name is Rosemary. In 2002 I bought a house on Alonissos. In 2004 I decided to move to Alonissos permanently and again researched the property market, this time to buy a home suitable for year-round living.

OLD HOUSES
In Greece it is unusual for old properties to be offered for sale because they are normally handed-down through generations of families. Some of the houses in Alonissos Old Village were damaged by an earthquake in 1965. These houses have been lovingly restored either by local people or by in-comers from various countries. In Alonissos Old Village we now have the rare opportunity to buy authentic old Greek houses.
MODERN VILLAS
In the last 20 years modern homes have been built on the outskirts of the Old Village and around the rest of the island. If you would prefer a modern property there is a selection available in a variety of locations on the island.
RENOVATION PROJECTS
There are still a small number of “ruins” available to buy in the Old Village, Votsi and in the countryside. You may prefer the idea of creating your own home from the remains of old property. If so, the local builders are now experienced in making this dream a reality for you.
LAND FOR SALE
I had not originally intended to sell land.
A number of local people, however, have asked me to sell land for them.
I have decided to do what I can as this service is obviously needed but I will not get involved in building work.
This means you are free to negotiate with any local builder, directly, without there being any commission payable to anyone for the building.
On this basis, you will now find that there is land available for sale on this site.

TRY BEFORE YOU BUY
Many of the properties on this site are used by their owners as holiday homes.
I have negotiated a “Try Before You Buy” scheme with the owners of certain homes.
If you have identified a property that particularly interests you and it is included under the scheme you can rent it directly from the owners for a holiday, or trial period. Naturally, there will be restrictions on when the house will be available.
If you decide to buy the property your rental costs will be reimbursed. While this is not a large sum of money in the context of buying a house, a free holiday cannot be a bad thing.
I can advise you about how to travel independently to Alonissos (more fun than being packaged) and will meet you when you arrive on the island.

ACCOMMODATION FOR VIEWING TRIPS
If you would like to visit Alonissos to look at properties for sale I can arrange accommodation for your stay.
Accomodation can be arranged for studio rooms, houses or hotels, subject to adequate notice.
Accomodation is booked on the basis of recommendations, mainly from clients.
This service is provided as a courtesy to my clients and there is no commission involved.
