PROPERTY
Ref: VOT3 €175,000
A three-bedroom detached house in Votsi with separate one-bedroom studio.
The studio was built in 1963 by the owner’s grandfather. The house (built in 1978) was one of four houses built for members of the family on adjacent land. Both properties were lived in by members of the family until recently. They are now being rented until sold.
As Votsi is predominantly a Greek residential area this property will suit you if you would like to experience Greek life with little concession to tourism.
A gate from the road leads into the terraced area in front of both the house and studio. Steps lead up to a tiled verandah to the front of the house (8 x 2m) with water tap and inspection hatch for the 30,000 litre sterna (water tank). The properties also have mains water.
The wrought iron and reinforced glass front door opens into the tiled hallway (5.5 x 1.1m). Most of the rooms are tiled in various mosaic effects and the house is being sold furnished.
A door to the right leads to the kitchen/dining room (5.75 x 3.25m) with window to the front. The kitchen has wall and base cupboards, marble sink, drainers and tiled splashbacks. The room has table and chairs, a free-standing glass fronted cupboard, fridge and a wooden framed single bed.
To the left of the hallway is bedroom 2 (3.25 x 3m) with wooden floor, window to the front and two wooden framed single beds.
To the rear are two further bedrooms:
Bedroom 1 is the largest (4.5 x 3.5m) and could easily be used as a living room. It currently has one permanent single bed, two single metal-framed spring bases and a wardrobe. There’s a window to the rear and double doors to the rear balcony with sea views.
Bedroom 3 (3.25 x 2.25m) has a window to the rear with sea views and a door to the balcony to the side of the house. It is furnished with two single wooden-framed beds.
The balcony extends around the rear and left side of the house and is 1m wide with mosaic effect tiles and a railing.
The bathroom (3.25 x 1.3m) has a small window to the side, black marble effect floor tiles, a modern bath, basin and toilet in white, a shower, water heater and is ¾ tiled in a grey marble effect. This is undoubtedly the best room in the house. In fact, it’s the second-best bathroom I have seen on the island but my photographer forgot to take a photograph of it! (photographer’s note ; I was thirsty)
To the side of the house steps lead to the flat roof (11.75 x 8m) with header tank, T.V. aerial and sea views. This roof can be built upon or could be made into a sitting area.
Beneath the house is a large garage which could also be converted to provide further accommodation.
From the entrance gate two steps lead down to the studio terrace (5.5 x 2.5m average) which is stone-paved with two trees. There is a small triangular piece of land with a fruit tree.
A modern U.P.V.C. glazed door leads into the living room (3.5 x 3m) with a window to the side, a Sporades-style fireplace, single bed and table and chairs.
An arch from the living room leads to the kitchen (2.5 x 2.25) with window to the front, wooden base unit, double drainer stainless steel sink unit with two sinks, small wall cupboard, extractor fan and fridge.
A sliding door leads from the living room to the rear bedroom (3.5 x 2.25m) with window to the side, double bed and wardrobe.
A door from the bedroom leads into the shower room/storage room (3 x 1.5m average) plus triangular storage area. This room has a white toilet and basin, shower, water-heater and is ½- tiled in white.
The two properties have separate water and electricity supplies and sternas. On the other side of the road there is a small garden space that goes with the property. It may be suitable for off- road parking, especially if the garage is converted.
This is an opportunity to buy into a piece of authentic Greece and still have easy access to the nearby facilities - tavernas, shops and beaches.
